About HICSS

In its 42 years, the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences has grown into one of the preeminent conferences in information systems and computer science. It was recently ranked third among research conferences in information systems. Submitted papers are double-blind reviewed, and the proceedings are published by IEEE Computer Society Press. The acceptance rates for papers is about 40%.

Typical attendance at the conference is 600 to 800 attendees. Roughly half of all attendees arrive from outside the United States.

HICSS emphasizes interaction among attendees. Paper sessions include time for feedback, and there are ample opportunities for research discussions during coffee breaks, lunches, and evening pupu parties (with a Luau on the last night).

For spreadsheet researchers who are also doing research in other fields, HICSSs has about a dozen simultaneous research presentations, organized into tracks and minitracks.
